Cervantino International Festival, Mexico
This ensemble is dedicated to the revival of early Italian Baroque repertoire, performed with original instruments tuned to the period.
The concert offers an overview of late 17th-century instrumental music in Bologna, Italy, both in "da chiesa" (church) and "da camera" (chamber) styles, featuring works by contemporaries of Arcangelo Corelli.
Musica Antiqua Latina prepares each piece by seeking the mysterious connection between performer and creator that transcends eras, styles, and languages.
Sources and manuscripts from major Italian archives are examined closely, decoding hidden figures, symbols, and rhetorical patterns, tracing the blend between sacred orthodoxy and theatrical melodism. They have performed in concerts and festivals nationally and internationally, as well as through radio broadcasts.
